Wayfair to Open Large-Format Store at Ridge Hill in Yonkers

Wayfair Inc. announced plans to open a large-format retail store at Ridge Hill in Yonkers in early 2027. The store will be the company’s first in New York and among its initial locations as it expands its brick-and-mortar presence.

The announcement comes one year after Wayfair opened its first large-format store in Wilmette, Illinois. The company has also confirmed plans for a store in Atlanta, scheduled to open in 2026.

The Yonkers store will occupy about 114,000 square feet and include 19 departments, offering furniture, décor, outdoor living products, home improvement items, and more. According to the company, shoppers will be able to purchase items in-store as well as arrange for fast delivery of larger products through its New Jersey fulfillment center.

“Once again Yonkers is attracting innovative and transformative businesses to our city, like Wayfair,” said Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano in a statement. “Wayfair is a premier go-to destination for home shopping and Yonkers is excited to be among the first markets to host its large-format retail store.”

Liza Lefkowski, vice president of merchandising and stores at Wayfair, said the company has seen positive results from its first store. “The upcoming Yonkers store builds on that momentum — bringing our immersive retail experience to the New York metro area and delivering the same inspiration, convenience, and flexibility our customers have come to expect,” she said.

Wayfair, headquartered in Boston, reported net revenues of $11.9 billion for the year ending Dec. 31, with a gross profit of $3.6 billion and a net loss of $492 million. As of March 31, the company said it had 21.1 million customers, with an average order value of $301. About 63 percent of orders were placed on mobile devices.
