YPL Presents Nuestra América: Inspiring Latinas/Latinos Who Have Shaped the United States

On Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 2:00–3:00 PM, the Yonkers Public Library will host a special virtual event as part of its YPL Presents: Virtual Author Series.

Smithsonian professionals Adrián Aldaba and Emily Key will lead a conversation on Nuestra América, exploring powerful stories of Latinos throughout history and their lasting contributions to the cultural, social, and political fabric of the United States.

Aldaba, National Programs Manager at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Latino, brings more than a decade of experience creating accessible museum programming across the country. Key, the museum’s Assistant Director of Learning and Public Engagement, oversees national bilingual programming and community engagement, including the acclaimed Young Ambassadors Program. Together, they will highlight inspiring narratives that deepen understanding of Latino heritage and identity.
