Several Taken Into Custody After Pursuit of Stolen Vehicle in Yonkers
A police chase involving a stolen car led to multiple arrests Monday evening, Nov. 10, after the vehicle crashed along the Saw Mill River Parkway in Yonkers.
According to Yonkers police, officers attempted to pull over a stolen vehicle around 6:30 p.m., but the driver refused to stop, prompting a pursuit. The fleeing vehicle collided with several other cars near the Saw Mill River Parkway and Cross County Parkway as the suspects tried to escape.
Three civilians suffered minor injuries in the crash and were taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation. Police said three Yonkers officers were also treated for minor injuries.
The northbound side of the Saw Mill River Parkway was shut down near Exit 4 for several hours while crews cleared the scene. All lanes reopened around 10 p.m.
Everyone inside the stolen vehicle was taken into custody at the scene. Police have not yet released the names of the individuals involved.
