City of Yonkers Welcomes Alexandra R. Bisesi to the City Court Bench
Mayor Mike Spano has appointed Alexandra R. Bisesi to serve as a City Court Judge for the City of Yonkers. She will officially take the bench on January 1, 2026, during the citywide Inauguration Ceremony at the Riverfront Library.
“Alexandra Bisesi is an outstanding choice for our City Court,” Mayor Spano said. “With 15 years of public service dedicated to the Westchester and Yonkers communities — particularly in municipal and family law — she brings exceptional professionalism, expertise, and litigation experience. Her leadership will strengthen our City Court system and benefit the people of Yonkers.”
Bisesi expressed gratitude for the appointment, noting, “I am thankful to Mayor Spano for this opportunity and the trust he has placed in me. I look forward to serving on the Yonkers City Court bench, upholding fairness, applying the law clearly, and working every day with integrity on behalf of our community.”
Bisesi comes to the bench after three years as Associate Corporation Counsel for the City of Yonkers, where she litigated tort and property damage claims and prosecuted city code violations, including matters involving building, housing, and fire codes. Her prior legal experience includes serving as Senior Attorney at de Moya & Associates P.C., litigating cases in New York Supreme Court and Family Court related to divorce, family law, and estate matters. She has also supported domestic violence survivors through her work with the Pace Women’s Justice Center and previously interned for the Honorable Chief Judge Michael Martinelli of Yonkers City Court.
Beyond her legal practice, Bisesi serves as Vice President of 100 Hispanic Women, Westchester Program, and as CLE Coordinator and Secretary for the Yonkers Lawyers Association. She holds a Juris Doctor from Pace University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Pace University.
Bisesi’s appointment fills the vacancy left by Judge Verris Shako. She is expected to run for a full 10-year term in the November 2026 election. She will join Chief Judge Hon. Arthur J. Doran III, Hon. Karen N. Beltran, Hon. Karen N. Best, Hon. Evan Inlaw, Hon. Ada D. Medina, and Hon. Daniel P. Romano on the Yonkers City Court bench.
