Collins-Bellamy, Politopoulos, and Pineda-Isaac Win Yonkers Primaries

City Council President Lakisha Collins-Bellamy won the Democratic primary for reelection on June 24, defeating four opponents.

Final vote totals, according to the Westchester Board of Elections, were:

Lakisha Collins-Bellamy — 2,928 (38%)
Mike Khader — 1,947 (25%)
Chuck Lesnick — 1,401 (18%)
Tasha Diaz — 706 (9%)
Peter Spano — 697 (9%)

Total votes cast: 7,679

This primary marked the first time three current or former council presidents ran against each other in the same race.

Dean Politopoulos won the Republican primary against Ron Schutte with 65% of the vote.

Final totals:

Dean Politopoulos — 1,596
Ron Schutte — 861
Councilwoman Corazon Pineda-Isaac secured the Democratic nomination in the 2nd District, defeating challenger Alberto Velazquez.

Final totals:

Corazon Pineda-Isaac — 1,440 (67%)
Alberto Velazquez — 710 (33%)

Collins-Bellamy will face Politopoulos in the general election for City Council President in November 2025.
