Demystifying Medicare: Free Workshops Across Westchester

Medicare can be confusing—but you don’t have to figure it out alone. This fall, the Westchester Library System, in partnership with the Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services, is hosting free “Demystifying Medicare” workshops to help residents better understand their healthcare coverage options.

These sessions are ideal for anyone who:

  • Already has Medicare

  • Will soon turn 65

  • Is planning for retirement

  • Or is helping a loved one make healthcare decisions

Participants will learn about:

  • ✅ Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage Plans

  • 💊 Prescription drug plans (Part D)

  • 🩺 Medigap supplemental plans

  • 💵 Cost-saving programs like EPIC and Extra Help

Workshops will take place from September 28 through November 9 at libraries across Westchester, including White Plains, Yonkers, Katonah, and more. Pre-registration is encouraged by calling (914) 231-3236.

Additional information—including the full schedule, audio resources, and downloadable materials—is available [HERE].

For those seeking more personalized support, Senior Benefits Individual Counseling (SBIC) sessions are available for free at select libraries. To find a location or make an appointment, call (914) 417-9012.
