Registration Open for 99th Yonkers Marathon This September

Registration is now open for the 99th Yonkers Marathon, hosted by the City of Yonkers Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation. The race will take place on Sunday, September 20, 2026.

The event will feature a full marathon, half marathon, and 5K, all beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Yonkers Train Station on Buena Vista Avenue along the waterfront. Runners can sign up through the City of Yonkers website.

Mayor Mike Spano highlighted the race as both a physical challenge and a celebration of the city, noting that participants return year after year for the course, the atmosphere, and the sense of community it brings.

Parks Commissioner Steve Sansone noted that this year’s race coincides with the 250th anniversary of the United States, adding an extra layer of significance to a long-standing Yonkers tradition.

The Yonkers Marathon, the second-oldest marathon in the United States, is certified by USA Track & Field and serves as a qualifying race for the Boston Marathon.
